How it works

Four steps. No surprises anywhere in them.

  1. 01

Call or text us a photo

Send a picture of the pile to (512) 983-6881 with your ZIP. Most quotes go back out inside the hour, and if the photo tells the whole story, that price is firm.

  2. 02

We show up in a 2-hour window

You get a real arrival window, not a vague afternoon. If we're running behind, your phone rings before the window closes — not after.

  3. 03

You approve the price, then we load

We walk the job with you and give you the all-in number. Nothing moves until you say go, and you can send us home at no charge.

  4. 04

We sweep up and you pay

Donatable items go to donation, metal goes to scrap, and we leave the space broom-clean. Pay when it's done — cash, card, Venmo or Zelle.

What we haul

If you can point at it, we can probably take it.

Between the F-550 flatbed and the trailers, we handle everything from a single mattress to a whole-property cleanout — houses, rentals, jobsites and Hill Country acreage.

Couches, sectionals, recliners, dressers, dining sets, desks — anything too heavy or too awkward to wrestle out yourself. We carry it out, you point.

  • Sectional sofas
  • Mattresses & box springs
  • Dressers & armoires
  • Office desks

Appliance Removal

Old fridge in the garage? Washer that finally quit? We disconnect, dolly it out, and get working units to a reuse partner when we can.

  • Refrigerators & freezers

Don't see it on the list? Just call and ask — the answer is usually yes.

Upfront pricing

Here are our actual prices.

Most companies in this business make you call to find out what anything costs. We think that's a waste of your afternoon. We price by how much room your stuff takes in the truck — never by the hour — and the number includes labor, driving and dump fees.

The honest list

What we take — and what we legally can't.

We'd rather tell you no on the phone than show up and waste your morning. Here's the straight version.

  • Furniture & mattresses
  • Appliances (fridges, washers, dryers)
  • Yard waste, brush & storm debris
  • Construction & remodel debris
  • Hot tubs, playsets & trampolines
  • Electronics, TVs & office equipment
  • Garage, attic & storage-unit contents
  • Scrap metal & old fencing
  • Sheds, decks & light demolition
  • Estate & whole-home cleanouts

We can't haul these

Not because we don't want to — because hauling them without the right license is illegal. We'll point you to the right place for each one.

  • Hazardous chemicals, paint & solventsRegulated household hazardous waste — Austin and Hays County run free drop-off events for these.
  • Asbestos & lead-containing materialsRequires a licensed abatement contractor by law. We'll point you to one.
  • Motor oil, fuel, antifreeze & propane tanksFlammable and regulated. Most auto parts stores take used oil for free.
  • Medical & biohazard wasteNeeds a licensed medical waste hauler.
  • Ammunition, explosives & firearmsContact your local sheriff's office for safe disposal.
  • Paint, wet or driedAustin's household hazardous waste center only accepts drop-offs from residents, not from businesses hauling on their behalf. Book a free residential HHW pickup and we'll take everything else.
  • TiresTexas regulates scrap tires separately — whole tires can't be landfilled and hauling them requires a TCEQ scrap tire registration. Most tire shops will take them for a small fee.

Meet the brothers

We grew up on these roads.

Hunter and Taylor Norwood are brothers, born and raised right here. We went to Dripping Springs High School. We know which driveways off Hamilton Pool Road are too steep for a trailer and which gates on RR 12 you have to lift instead of swing.

Taylor served in the U.S. military before coming home. The standard he brought back is the one we run the business on: show up when you said you would, do the job right the first time, and leave the place better than you found it.

We're a Christian, family-run outfit. That mostly means we treat your house like it's our mother's and we tell you the truth about the price — including when the honest answer is that you don't need us at all.

When you call, you get one of us. Not a call center in another state that dispatches whoever's closest. The same two people who quote your job are the ones who show up to do it.

Hunter Norwood

Co-Owner

Born and raised in the Hill Country and a Dripping Springs High School grad. Hunter handles the scheduling, the quotes, and makes sure nobody ever gets a surprise on the invoice.

Taylor Norwood

Co-Owner · U.S. Military Veteran

Taylor served his country before coming home to Dripping Springs. He brings the same standard to a garage cleanout that he brought to the service: show up on time, do it right, leave it better than you found it.

Where we work

Based in Dripping Springs. Out your way most days.

We run a roughly 40-mile radius out of Dripping Springs, which puts most of the Hill Country and South Austin inside a comfortable drive. Being based here — not in Austin or up in Leander — is why we can usually get to you faster than the big names.

Also out to: Spicewood, Driftwood, West Lake Hills, Rollingwood, Barton Creek, Steiner Ranch, Bear Creek, Creedmoor, Mountain City, Woodcreek, Hays, Johnson City, Blanco, Cedar Valley. A little outside that? Call anyway — we'd rather give you a straight yes or no in thirty seconds than have you guess.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Still not sure? Call us. We won't put you through a script.

(512) 983-6881
How much does junk removal cost in Austin and Dripping Springs?

We price by how much room your stuff takes up in the truck, never by the hour. Our minimum is $139 for a single item or a very small pickup. A half load runs $399, and a full 14-cubic-yard load is $669. That price includes the labor, the driving and the dump fees — there is no separate fuel charge and no per-item surprise at the end. You get the number before we load anything.

Do I have to be home when you pick up?

No. Plenty of our customers leave the pile in the driveway, the garage open, or the gate unlocked and we text photos when we're done. If it's a curbside pickup we can handle it entirely without you there. We'll confirm the plan on the phone beforehand either way.

Can you come out the same day?

Often, yes. We're based in Dripping Springs, so 78620, 78737 and 78738 are our shortest drives. Call before about 2 PM on a weekday and there's a good chance we can get to you that afternoon. Saturdays book up fastest — usually by Thursday. Call (512) 983-6881 and we'll tell you straight what we've got open.

How do I get a price without you coming out?

Text a photo of the pile to (512) 983-6881 along with your ZIP code. That's genuinely the fastest way — most quotes go back out within the hour during business hours. If the photo tells the whole story, that quote is firm.

Do I have to move everything outside first?

Absolutely not. That's the job you're paying us for. We'll go into the garage, up the attic ladder, down the stairs, out to the back forty — wherever it is. You point at it, we carry it. The only things we ask you to handle are anything valuable you want kept and anything on the list we can't legally take.

What won't you take?

We can't haul household hazardous waste: paint, solvents, motor oil, fuel, antifreeze, pesticides, propane tanks, asbestos, or medical and biohazard waste. Ammunition and explosives are a hard no as well, and we don't take tires — Texas regulates scrap tires under a separate hauling registration. The good news on paint and chemicals: if you're in Austin or Travis County, the city's Recycle and Reuse Center takes them free by appointment, and residential customers can book a free curbside hazardous waste pickup up to three times a year. We'll point you to it and haul everything else.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Junk Brothers is a registered Texas LLC carrying general liability and commercial auto insurance. We're happy to send a certificate of insurance before we show up — property managers and HOAs ask for it regularly and it's never a problem.

What actually happens to my stuff?

We sort it before it ever reaches a landfill. Anything still usable goes to donation partners around Central Texas — Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Goodwill Central Texas and Austin Creative Reuse all take good furniture and building materials. Metal goes to scrap, electronics go to certified e-waste recycling, and only what's genuinely left over gets disposed of. Austin's Zero Waste goal isn't just the city's problem; it's how we'd rather work anyway.

Will you scratch my floors or door frames?

We bring floor runners, door jamb protection and moving blankets on every job, and we use them. Getting a sectional through a doorway without leaving a mark is most of the skill in this work. If we ever do damage something, we tell you immediately and we make it right — that's what the insurance is for.

Do you take single items, or is there a minimum job size?

We take single items. One couch, one fridge, one hot tub — that's what the $139 minimum covers. We're not going to turn down a small job from a neighbor because it isn't a full truck.

How is a two-brother crew different from the big franchises?

When you call us, you get Hunter or Taylor — not a national call center that dispatches whichever crew is nearest. We quote the job, we do the job, and we're the ones you call if something's wrong. There are no franchise fees baked into your price, which is most of the reason we come in well under the national brands.

Do you handle commercial jobs and property turnovers?

Yes. We work with property managers, realtors, contractors and landlords across the Hill Country on rental turnovers, eviction and foreclosure cleanouts, office clear-outs and jobsite debris. We can schedule after hours, invoice on terms, and handle recurring haul-offs. Ask us about a standing rate.

What areas do you actually serve?

Dripping Springs, Bee Cave, South Austin, Lakeway, Wimberley, Buda and Kyle are our core footprint, plus Driftwood, Spicewood, West Lake Hills, Rollingwood, Oak Hill and the surrounding Hill Country. If you're a little outside that, call anyway — we'd rather tell you yes or no in thirty seconds than have you guess.

How do I pay, and do you need a deposit?

No deposit and no card on file. We take cash, credit and debit cards, Venmo and Zelle, and you pay once the truck is loaded and you're satisfied with how the space looks.

Is Junk Brothers really veteran-owned?

Yes. Taylor served in the U.S. military before coming home to Dripping Springs to start this with his brother Hunter. Both of them grew up here and graduated from Dripping Springs High School. It's a genuinely local, genuinely family-run business — not a franchise with a local phone number.
